Question feedback

The campus re-opened on 30th june 2010 in ownership.

It was party closed and partly opened.

It was in the state of diss-repair, some teaching used to take place in portacabbins.

He has been in Manchester for 30 years and was before at Nichols campus

The place was surveyed and had a 1 year refurbishment as the place was unsafe.

There are 4 floors, the ground floor includes open learning, surestart, library and the refectory with separate quite tables as part of refectory

All the cabling is under the library floor and the lights are computer controlled.

1st floor includes counseling, health and safety, broadcasting which was a room used for various things

the floors and the windows are new. The reinforced concrete structure remains but all the internals were refurbished.

It was called Fielden park but is now the college, as it could have being used as a park

All the houses next to the campus are new

Total costing of £10 million of the renovations

The director of the property run the renovations, the principle and the deputy of principle, walker and Simpson which are local architects these were the designers which are a small firm. Wates was the builders, which employed sub contractors

There was some snagging with the building work.

4. everything was not fit for anything, the books were refilled which were ‘conjusive to learning’

The sports hall is currently not fully operational, it is used as storage with no risk assessments. It is developing, it can be sometimes used if made safe.

In process of refurbishing outside- trees, new support stock.. London plane tree at the front of the building with renovation of 1 year and half.

5 week program of the grounds re-done. The boundary of the campus goes all the way back to the middle of the river. Learners are going to be involved with the design as there is extra land at the back (e.g food grown?)

new bike shelters made.

Inside the canteen was poor, poor blue colour with a plywood look, leaking roofs, outside, the steps to develop to be a nature wall. With plants with maybe a glass structure or a waterfall for relaxation. Not extending the car park as they thing that is should encourage more walking instead of using cars.
